Support and Education Forum

Connect with other New Brunswickers on the dementia journey by joining our Support and Education Forum on Facebook. This private Facebook Group is an inclusive and safe space where you can share, ask questions and connect with others.

If you are a family member or friend of someone living with dementia, click here to join the private Facebook group.

This private Facebook Group is intended for family caregivers of those living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Launched during the COVID-19 to help maintain connections during a time of physical distancing, this group is an inclusive and safe space where you can share, ask questions and connect with others.

The Support and Education Forum is a private group on Facebook where caregivers can share, ask questions and connect with others in an inclusive and safe space. Our staff will share information on community resources, learning opportunities, activities, caregiving tips, and will address requests for information. We will also monitor the group to ensure all questions receive a timely response during business hours.

This group is a place to:

Explore feelings of isolation and loneliness
Exchange information, ideas, and find support with others
Share tips and strategies to cope with the disease
Find a positive outlook on things without being misunderstood
Develop communication and problem-solving skills

It is NOT:

For formal therapy or counseling
A formal educational group led by an expert. The emphasis is on input from all members based on personal experience rather than expert or professional knowledge
A space to share confidential or personal information

It is our hope that we will be able to support you and learn from one another in the process.
