Matching Gift programs
Many companies encourage their employees, spouses, or retirees to contribute to charities by offering a "matching gift" program. The company donates funds to match your contribution to the same charity. Matching Gifts programs increase the value of your gift and make greater impact in your community. By taking advantage of your company's Matching Gift program, you may be able to double or even triple the amount of your contribution.
Find out if your employer has a Matching Gift program by checking with your Human Resources department.
Donate in memorium or in honour of a special occasion
Would you like to make a donation to mark a celebration or milestone occasion? A special birthday or anniversary, a birth, a special goal reached?
Or, would you like to make a donation in memory of a beloved family member, friend, neighbour or coworker?
If so, you can donate online In Memory of Someone or In Honour of a Special Celebration. You can check off either of these options in the "Dedication information" section on the donation webpage.
Giving Tuesday
Become a Memory Maker for Alzheimer's on #GivingTuesdayCA
Most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday…and now you can put altruism in the spotlight in Canada on Giving Tuesday, a Canadian movement for giving and volunteering the day after Cyber Monday.
You can do something about dementia on Giving Tuesday or anytime. Here’s one way you can do that:
Plan to host a fundraising event! It’s easier than you think.
Whether you plan to host a dinner party with friends, organize a charitable dress-down day at work, or a community bake sale, you can register your event through Anything for Alzheimer’s.
Anything for Alzheimer’s is your one-stop fundraising headquarters. Sign up as an individual or a team, and let the fundraising begin! Money you raise will go directly to your local Alzheimer Society anywhere in Ontario, to make a difference in the lives of those living with the disease. It may even benefit someone you know.
If you do not have the time to organize a fundraising event for Giving Tuesday and would like to donate to your local Alzheimer Society of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) chapter, you can do so by donating through the Canada Helps, Giving Tuesday website.
You can find out more about Giving Tuesday and how it is helping communities and organizations across Canada here. Together, we can lead the change for people with dementia!
