"Being dementia-friendly is 'being kind, asking and not labelling.'"
- Person living with dementia
Dementia-friendly communities encompass all types of spaces, settings and groups in the community where people living with dementia, their families and care partners feel included, acknowledged and supported. The Dementia-Friendly Communities (DFC) initiative provides tools, education, resources and partnership opportunities to enable local governments, businesses, community organizations, grassroots groups and the general public to become dementia friendly.
