Help make dementia an election issue: Phone script

Use this script to call your local candidate and urge them to support better dementia care, diagnosis and support services in BC.

Hello, my name is [Name] and I'm a resident of [Community/Riding].

I’m calling to ask [Candidate Name] to make dementia a priority in this election. More than 85,000 people in BC are living with dementia and families need better access to diagnosis, care and support.

I’m asking  [Candidate Name] whether they support a funded provincial dementia strategy, including better access to diagnosis, stronger dementia supports like First Link®, and improved care for people living with dementia and care partners.

Please pass this message on to the candidate and let me know their position on these priorities and what actions they will take, if elected, to improve dementia care and support in BC. I can be reached at [Phone number and/or email address].

Thank you.
