Writing a personal letter, or sending an e-mail, is still the most popular form of communication with parliamentarian offices. Communicating your views directly is a critical part of any strategy to effect change.

Letters

Because few people write to politicians, they count one letter as the voice of many voters. Imagine the impact that a thousand letters could have, all echoing the same demand for change.

When drafting your letter or e-mail, it is important to make sure that it is compelling, yet direct and to the point. Personal experiences are key, and you should share as much of your story as possible.

To send an e-mail to your MP, click here. From there, you can choose to send the template e-mail developed by the Alzheimer Society, or personalize it with your own story or concerns.

Help us keep track of your advocacy efforts – let us know when you have sent a letter by e-mailing us at advocacy@alzheimer.ca.
