‘My Mother’ – A daughter’s touching tribute
When the first signs of dementia began to appear, Marion Schmidt knew she was losing her memory even though her children were doubtful. Her daughter, Mimi, reflects on the grace and courage her mom held onto throughout her life, and what a gift that is for her family
"I know that my son’s generous spirit in part comes from my mother and that she will carry on through her children and grandchildren," Mimi writes.

Menopause and Memory – A possible link?

Coordinated response to dementia epidemic
The Alzheimer Society is calling on the Government of Canada to take action on dementia now, while there is still time.
The Society is asking parliamentarians to support its request for a National Dementia Summit, an initiative that would bring together federal, provincial and territorial health ministries across Canada.
This Summit would help to ensure a coordinated response to the dementia epidemic at all levels of government.
