Collector Coin Helping to Remember Those Touched by Alzheimer's Disease
The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) is helping to recognize those touched by Alzheimer's disease with the release of its 2007 50-Cent Sterling Silver Golden Forget-Me-Not collector coin.
One dollar from the sale of every Forget-Me-Not collector coin will be donated to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. The funds raised from this initiative will help support critical Alzheimer research through the Society's Research Program.
The Golden Forget-Me-Not was chosen for both its delicate beauty and the species' significance as the symbol of the Alzheimer Society. The coin is sterling silver with selective gold plating, and is minted with the same artistic flair and technical precision as the 2006 Golden Daisy, 2005 Golden Rose and the 2004 Easter Lily.
This coin is available for purchase for the suggested retail price of $38.95, and is limited to a world-wide mintage of 20,000.
The Alzheimer Society is a nationwide, not-for-profit health organization dedicated to helping people affected by Alzheimer's disease.
