"With
a Will, There's a Way"
[See
our Donor Profile for
one woman's story.]
If
you don't have a Will, you're not alone
According
to a survey conducted by the Trust Companies Association
of Canada, more than half of all Canadians do not have
a Last Will and Testament. Consequently, each year the
courts settle estates based upon provincial legislation.
Without a Will you lose control over whom will administer
your estate and who will receive your assets. More...
Planning
for your charitable interests
Just
as you've supported the Alzheimer Society throughout
your lifetime, you can include a provision for us in
your Will. This lets you continue your support of our
mission to find a cause and cure for Alzheimer's disease
and help those affected by the disease and their caregivers.
Wills
offer many donors a way to make a gift which might not
have been possible during their lifetime. Your Will can
reaffirm your commitment to our goals.
A
charitable bequest in your Will can be in the form of
a specific sum of money, a particular piece of property
or a percentage of whatever remains after expenses and
other bequests are paid. Your charitable bequest can
also be a contingent bequest, payable to the Society
only if a spouse and children do not survive you.
Thank
you for thinking of us
If
you've named our organization in your Will, please contact
us at plangiving@alzheimer.ca about
your current provision. If you're thinking about naming
the Society in your Will, we'd be pleased to send sample
provisions for your consideration and provide you with
the correct legal name of your local, provincial or national
Alzheimer Society.
The Alzheimer Society understands that donors consider estate and gift planning to be a strictly confidential matter. Please be assured your enquiry will be handled in a manner that respects your privacy and maintains confidentiality. See our Privacy page for more information.
