Living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia can be incredibly demanding and isolating for those with the disease and their care partners. Changes caused by the disease can make day-to-day life challenging, but you do not have to be alone. Your experience can be made easier if you have information and support.
The Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan offers Support Groups for People with Dementia and Caregiver Support Groups that can improve your quality of life. These groups provide a safe environment where you can learn, laugh and help each other through mutual understanding.
Early Memory Loss Support Groups
Our Early Memory Loss Support Groups provide an opportunity to:
- Learn about living with dementia and its progression,
- Share feelings and common experiences,
- Exchange practical coping strategies, and
- Participate in discussions.

Caregiver Support Groups
For those caring for someone with the disease – spouses, family or friends – a Caregiver Support Group offers the chance to:
- Exchange information and friendship with others affected by dementia,
- Access the most current information,
- Learn and share practical tips for coping with change,
- Decrease feelings of loneliness and isolation,
- Express feelings and be reassured that these feelings are normal, and
- Find a sense of hope.
