Why I Walk
Nellie Ellert is the most amazing woman. Wife, mother, aunt, friend, singer, entertainer, athlete and wisdom provider. She is brilliant, kind and so much fun. The twinkle in her eye and her quick wit would engage and enlighten the most stoic of people. I miss her very much, even though she is still with us.
Over the past 13 years, I have witnessed my mother's decline to the point where her ability to form the simplest of thoughts has eroded away. We lose her a piece at a time.
My mother and I have always shared a close bond, but even I can't save her from this terrible disease though I've tried everything available. What I can do is help someone else. I can help to set up support for those afflicted and those giving care. I can raise funds to find a cure. Please help me in this pursuit. Join the Walk yourself or pledge a walker.
