Position Summary:

To distribute posters and flyers for the 2017 Walk for Alzheimer’s in Barrie and surrounding communities as applicable.

Responsibilities:

1. Pick up materials for delivery from the Community Promotions Coordinator for the 2017 Walk for Alzheimer’s.

2. Deliver materials to participating locations and give the material to the contact person or their designate.

3. Keep materials organized and in good condition.

4. Record any notes of interest regarding any of the participating locations.

5. Forward notes made to the Community Promotions Coordinator to be included in the file for Community Promotions.

Position Specifications:

• Willing to drive to various parts of Simcoe County
• Willing to drive at various times of the year (weather permitting)
• Reliable car and valid drivers licence
• Flexible hours to deliver during the day
• Trustworthy, reliable
• Able to communicate purpose of the Walk for Alzheimer’s and materials effectively
• A people person
• Committed to the mission of the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County
• Enthusiastic about the annual Walk for Alzheimer’s

Standards:

• Good driving record and driving skills
• Able to deliver materials in a timely, organized manner
• Maintained material in an organized and good condition
• Attend Orientation Session for new volunteers

Accountability:

• To the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County: to represent the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County to the community and to the participating locations in a professional and friendly manner
• To the Community Promotions Coordinator and the Events Coordinator: to deliver the materials in a timely and acceptable manner
• To the Participating Locations: to deliver the materials in a timely and acceptable manner

Rewards:

• Enjoys driving, becoming familiar with participating locations and the services they provide to the community – getting to know the community from a different perspective• Become familiar with the Walk for Alzheimer’s
• Satisfaction of having contributed to the success of the Walk for Alzheimer’s by assisting with the extensive advertising of the event

Time Commitment:

• March to May: approximately 2 hours per month
