Position Title: Donations Coordinator 2017 Walk for Alzheimer’s

Position Summary:

To identify possible prize donors and solicit donations from them for prizing in various categories (i.e.: top team, top individual) and draw prizes. To ensure that proper records of donations are kept and donors properly recognized

Responsibilities:


1. Using the pledge forms, collaborate with the Events Coordinator to identify businesses and individuals who may be interested in donating a major prize for top individual or top team.

2. Identify other business and individuals who may be interested in donating a prize, food or beverages to the Walk for Alzheimer’s.

3. Coordinate the solicitation of donations.

4. Develop and maintain accurate records of donations received and contact information for donors.

5. Coordinate the pick-up or delivery of donations.

6. Ensure proper recognition for donors.

7. Delegate tasks to Donations Canvassers

8. Follow-up with Donations Canvassers and supervise their work.

9. Set up the prize table.

10. Plan and implement the effective and efficient distribution of the prizes at the Walk.

Accountability:

• To the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County: to represent the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County to the community and to the participating locations in a professional and friendly manner
• To the Planning Committee Chair and the Events Coordinator: to fulfil all responsibilities in a timely and acceptable manner
• To the Donations Canvassers: to delegate tasks effectively and supervise their work, supporting and guiding them where necessary
• To the Participating Donors: to interact with all donors in a professional and friendly manner and to pick-up, deliver all donations in a timely and acceptable manner; to ensure that all donors are recognized appropriately

Time Commitment:

• Monthly Planning Committee meetings beginning November 2016 to May 2017, approximately 1.5 – 2 hours/month
• Identification, solicitation and confirmation of major prizing identified on pledge forms in February: 10 hours
• Identification, solicitation and confirmation of all other prizing: December – May: approximately 4 hours/month
• Attend the Walk for Alzheimer’s on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
