Still Alice Movie Screenings
The Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay has obtained a 5-year Public Performance Showing Rights from Criterion Pictures, for the film Still Alice. We are looking for Still Alice screening hosts in Thunder Bay!
Still Alice is an adaptation of the New York Times best-selling novel by Liza Genova. This film looks at the effects Alzheimer’s disease has on family relationships after a mother of three is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. With a star studded cast, including Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin, and Kristen Stewart, the film is rated PG-13 and has a running time of 101 minutes.
The Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay recognizes the importance of this film, as Still Alice showcases the warning signs of dementia, stigma of this disease, the relationships with family and care partners, the struggle of independence and self-discovery, and the startling statistics Alzheimer’s disease has taken on. This is why the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay is offering a discussion and showing of Still Alice to community groups in Thunder Bay. The discussion portion of the event runs for approximately 15 minutes before the film and 25 minutes proceeding, with an all-together event running time of approximately 2.5 hours. Our discussion period is led by trained and knowledgeable volunteers, with a passion for spreading awareness in our community. This is a safe space where we encourage the community to ask any questions they may have about the disease as well as make valuable connections to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay. Our event does not include an admittance fee, however donations are always welcome. Educational materials, such as brochures and informational forms, will also be provided.
If you or anyone you know is interested in hosting a discussion and showing of the film Still Alice, contact Jaclyn at (807) 345-9556 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
