Social Luncheon Facilitators

Volunteers who assist with the organization of the Monthly Social Luncheon will have an appreciation of the need for carers to meet together for an hour of social interaction with others who share the same needs.

Volunteers provide a safe, comfortable environment in local restaurants for this opportunity for carers to socialize. No formal support is provided by the group facilitators. A Support Services Staff person regularly attends the Social Luncheon to share information about programs and services provided by the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County and address any concerns the group may have.

Responsibilities:
  • Organize the luncheon locations, make monthly reminder calls, update Family Support Coordinator, Keep Attendance, New Attendee Registration
  • Welcome all participants and distribute Name Tags
  • Listen to the participants, direct any questions or concerns to the Family Support Coordinator, distribute any information provided by the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County
  • Communicate to the Support Services team, any ideas or suggestions for programming, cooperate in the promotion and implementation of events and programs of the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County

Initial and ongoing support is provided.

To book an Interview, contact Volunteer Resources Coordinator at 705-722-1066 or mglanfield@alzheimersociety.ca.
