Position Summary:

To identify and encourage businesses, organizations and other groups to enter teams into the 2017 Walk for Alzheimer’s.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify businesses, organizations and other groups who may be interested in entering teams (Lions Clubs, Retirement Homes, Businesses, Schools, etc)

2. Approach these prospects with information to encourage their participation.

3. Develop team competitions to entice team participation and make it fun!

4. Collaborate with the Donation Coordinator to secure Team prizes as needed.

5. Meet with the teams on event day, take team photos, encourage team and competitive spirit, etc.

6. Develop and maintain accurate records for distribution of prizes and for future events.

7. Ensure that each team is appropriately acknowledged.

• Attend Orientation Session for new volunteers

Accountability:

• To the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County: to represent the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County to the community and to the participating locations in a professional and friendly manner
• To the Planning Committee Chair and the Events Coordinator: to fulfil all responsibilities in a timely and acceptable manner
• To the Participating Teams: to interact with all teams in a professional and friendly manner

Time Commitment:

• Monthly Planning Committee meetings beginning November 2016 to May 2017, approximately 1.5 – 2 hours/month
• Identification, solicitation and confirmation of teams: 2 – 4 hours per month
• Identification, solicitation and confirmation of all other prizing: January- May: approximately 4 hours/month
• Attend the Walk for Alzheimer’s on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
