Position Summary:

To identify entertainers in the community who would be suitable for the 2017 Walk for Alzheimer’s. To secure the selected entertainers for Walk Day and provide support as needed.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify entertainers in the community and approach those suitable to perform at the 2017 Walk for Alzheimer’s.

2. Secure entertainers and stay within the budget for the Walk for Alzheimer’s

3. Identify the logistical needs of the entertainer and ensure that those needs are met.

4. Ensure the proper recognition of the entertainers.

5. Provide support and guidance to the entertainment on Walk day.

• Flexible schedule which allows telephoning and completing some tasks through business hours

• Enthusiastic about the annual Walk for Alzheimer’s

Standards:

• Conscientious in completing all tasks and following-up in a timely manner
• Conscientious in attending the planning meetings
• Met he logistical needs of the entertainers
• Entertainers enjoyed working with the volunteer
• Conducted all contacts and transactions to the highest standards
• Attend Orientation Session for new volunteers

Accountability:

• To the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County: to represent the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County to the community and to the participating locations in a professional and friendly manner
• To the Planning Committee Chair and the Events Coordinator: to fulfil all responsibilities in a timely and acceptable manner
• To the entertainers: To communicate with them in a timely and professional manner and to meet their logistical needs
• To the Walk participants: To select family oriented entertainers who add to the enjoyment of the event, motivating the participants.

Time Commitment:

• Monthly Planning Committee meetings beginning December 2016 to May 2017, approximately 1.5 – 2 hours/month
• Identification, solicitation and confirmation of entertainers: December – May: approximately 2 hours/month
• Attend the Walk for Alzheimer’s on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
