Day 1: Create Memorable Moments

Tuesday, June 14, 2016: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. – 8:55 a.m.
Coffee and Tea served from 8:00-8:55 a.m.
Lunch provided.
COST: $45 for members $55 for non-members for one day including lunch


This first day is designed for professionals in the health care field with emphasis placed on helping, to “Create Memorable Moments”. The focus will be on making moments of joy with persons living with dementia. Teepa will help participants improve their understanding of the typical progression of dementia. Teepa will provide some ideas for improving your hands on skills for giving care, as well as finding meaning and humour in
caregiving roles.

Day 2: Create a Dementia Friendly Community

Wednesday, June 15, 2016: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Doors open at 8:00 a.m.
Coffee and Tea served from 8:00-8:55 a.m.
Lunch provided.
COST: $45 for members $55 for non-members one day including lunch

The second day is designed for all business owners, emergency personal and first responders, as well as those in the Developmental Sector. Teepa will help participants “Create a Dementia Friendly Community”. Teepa will help participants improve their understanding of the different dementias including the dual diagnosis of dementia and other mental health disorders. Her focus will be on how to communicate with someone who has dementia and how to support a person with cognitive impairment whom you may encounter in the community with a cognitive impairment.
