Why should I become a member?
There is strength in numbers. Your membership, when combined with others, helps provide a stronger voice to decision-makers to advocate for effective services for people with dementia and their families. A large membership helps funders and other stakeholders realize that Alzheimer's disease and other dementias are important issues in the lives of people in our community. Membership is also an important source of revenue for our organization.
What are the benefits for me?
When you become a member, you will receive:
- a charitable tax receipt;
- our newsletter published twice per year;
- voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.
Do I have to take our a membership to use your programs and services?
No. We will provide services whether or not you are a member. However, you may wish to become a member in order to have a deeper involvement with the Society, to demonstrate support for the needs of people with dementia, and to support the Alzheimer Society financially.
Am I automatically a member if I use your services?
No. You must purchase a membership in order to become a member.
If I make a donation, am I considered a member?
No. Many donors wish to contribute but do not wish to become involved as a member. You must specifically purchase a membership in or der to become a member.
How much does it cost?
The annual fee is $15 for adults, and $10 for seniors and students. Membership is valid for one year. You will be sent a renewal notice close to your renewal date.
How do I sign up?
Complete the Membership Form and return it with your payment to the address listed on our Contact Us page.
