Volunteer

You want to make a difference. And we need your help. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Alzheimer Society. We have many volunteers across the province who work in many ways to help those affected by Alzheimer's disease, their families and caregivers, and the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia office. Whether you have just a bit of time or want to get involved on a regular basis, there are a number of ways you can help.

Contact the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, by e-mailing michele.charlton@asns.ca, or calling 902-422-7961 ext.241 to talk about how you can get involved. Here are a few examples that might fill a need at your local Alzheimer Society and may appeal to your interests to get you thinking:

Offer your time

  • Help with local events like the annual Alzheimer Coffee Break™, which raises funds for local Alzheimer Societies, canvas door-to-door, or help out with our Walk for Memories or Alzheimer Duck Derby.
  • Help out in the office. Greet visitors, help with kit assembly and mail-outs and many other administrative tasks.

Offer your expertise

  • Join a committee to help with special events or our programs and services
  • Write for the chapter newsletter, help with accounting or join the board of directors, to name just a few ways you can offer your expertise.
