Reversible dementias
Some types of dementia are reversible. This means they can be treated and possibly cured. A treatable dementia happens because of some other condition. The most common cause of reversible dementia is a toxic reaction to medication, either prescription or over the counter.
Other causes include:
- Dietary deficiency
- Vitamin B12 deficiency
- Infections
- Tumours
- Alcoholism
- Inflammatory states
- Hormonal dysfunction
- Environmental toxins
- Drug abuse
- Depression
Please see your doctor if you are concerned about any of these conditions.
