About the Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts
Founded in 1991 and Incorporated in 1994, the Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts is here to improve the quality of life of individuals who are affected or who may become affected by Alzheimer disease or a related dementia and their caregivers.
The Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts covers a large geographic region of the North West of Ontario. These communities include Kenora and Rainy River Districts: Red Lake, Ear Falls, Sioux Lookout, Hudson, Ignace, Dryden, Vermilion Bay, Fort Frances, Emo, Rainy River, Sioux Narrows, Nestor Falls, and Kenora, along with Fifty One First Nation Reserves.
The Society is a non-profit organization that receives 45% funding from the North West LHIN & MOHLTC they fund us for our First Link & Public Education at 1.38 positions. We manage to serve the area with our Client Services Coordinators - 1 full time staff in Kenora, part time in Dryden & Fort Frances, 1 full-time Office and Events Coordinator and 1 full-time Executive Director in the Kenora office serving the Districts.
