Here are some ways that you can support the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County:
Friendly Caller - You will receive training to connect with caregivers or persons living with dementia to offer support, information and resources by phone.
Program - Help develop programs to support people with dementia or offer your time in a specific program in your community
Fundraising - Help out with events or volunteer to make calls. Share your creative imagination with us and join our dynamic team!
Leadership - Volunteer as a member of a board or committee, or offer support and training to other volunteers
Office Assistant - Provide administrative support or undertake specific projects, all the while keeping things running smoothly in the office.
Education Support - Join a dynamic team! Work alongside our Education Team and provide information to the community.
Graphics Designer - Help with graphic design and layout of newsletters, brochures, website development, event posters and other marketing materials.
Web Master - Help keep our website updated.
Grant Writer - Our staff is small, our resources are limited and the need is great!! Research potential funding sources, help prepare and submit proposals for grants.
Support Group Facilitator - Facilitate a support group, which offers emotional support and self-help to families of persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Also a great opportunity to enhance or learn new skills.
Alzheimer Café - Unite those with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, their caregivers, and families in a non-institutional setting that feels like a regular café complete with food, activities, entertainment and information.
Speak out - Help keep dementia top-of-mind among politicians and media
- Write letters or emails to different levels of government
- Meet with local politicians to help achieve public policy goals
- Participate in public forums, meetings or events
- Speak to radio, television or newspaper reporters (we’ll help you!)
