A step closer to ending Alzheimer's disease

Thousands of British Columbians in 24 communities across the province – including inaugural walks in Burnaby and the North Shore – participated in theInvestors Group Walk for Memories on January 25, 2015.

Participants walked to honor the over 70,000 individuals in B.C. who have Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, while they fundraised for support services, education programs and research for a cure.

It is not too late to show your support to participants by donating online or by mailing a cheque with a pledge form. If you were a participant, remember that you have until the end of March to collect pledges.

Our deepest gratitude go out to all the wonderful walkers across the province who came together to support those who face dementia and raised funds for the Society. Thank you also to the dedicated volunteer committees for the countless hours each has contributed, and to each Walk honoree for sharing his or her experience of the disease. Together, we are taking steps towards ending Alzheimer’s disease.

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank our title sponsor Investors Group, our provincial sponsors and regional sponsors for all of their wonderful support and making this event a success.

If you attended a Walk in 2015, we’d love to hear from you! Please e-mail any feedback and photos to dtsai@alzheimerbc.org.
